On the real Digital SAT, your Module 1 score determines which Module 2 you get. Strong Module 1 performance routes you to the harder Module 2, which has a higher score ceiling. A weaker Module 1 routes you to an easier Module 2, which typically caps your section score near 600. Our calculator mirrors this behaviour so your estimate reflects how the actual test scores you.

Each section (Reading & Writing and Math) is scored from 200 to 800. Each section is split into two adaptive modules — Module 1 routes you to an easier or harder Module 2. The two section scores add up to your total between 400 and 1600.
With adaptive on, Module 2 is weighted differently based on your Module 1 performance, matching the real Digital SAT. With it off, the calculator does a simple linear conversion across all questions.
On the real test the exact thresholds are not published, but widely-cited approximations are ~18/27 for Reading & Writing Module 1 and ~15/22 for Math Module 1. Hitting these usually routes you to the harder Module 2.
